Ragweed can help increase your pheasant population
Research has shown that planting Ragweed as part of a habitat management plan has doubled and tripled bird numbers!  Ragweed is the native plant most used by game birds throughout their natural range.  Long recognized for its highly beneficial qualities for adult birds as well as broods, Ragweed helps to produce abundant and dependable pheasant populations! 

Ragweed serves the game bird in many critical facets:

  1. Broad leaves provide over head protection from avian predators
  2. Sturdy, erect stalks remain open beneath the canopy for easy ground access by the chicks
  3. Valuable winter food source with abundant and nutritious seed production
  4. Natural home to insects providing quality food source in the critical stages of young chick development.

The formula:  If broadcasting, use 15 to 20 pounds per acre.  If drilling, use 10 pounds per acre.  Light disk annually.  Re-seed every three to five years.
